In 2012, he was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks (NBA) in the first round (23rd overall). He graduated from Vanderbilt University, and it will be his 14th season in pro basketball. Jenkins has been a member of the USA international program for several years. He has played for the USA senior team since 2018 and previously for the University National Team in 2011. Jenkins represented the USA at the FIBA World Cup 2023 Americas Qualifiers three years ago. During this event, he scored an average of 18.3 points per game and had 1.3 rebounds per game. He is a very experienced player. Jenkins has traveled extensively during his pro career, playing in eleven different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, and North America). He has played professionally in Australia, China (Jiangsu Dragons), France (Gravelines Dunkerque), Israel (Hapoel Eilat), Romania, Russia (Lokomotiv), Spain (Burgos, Surne Bilbao, and Basquet Girona), Turkey (Tofas), NBA (Dallas Mavericks, Portland Trail Blazers, NY Knicks, Phoenix Suns, and Washington Wizards), Puerto Rico (Cangrejeros and Criollos), and NBA G League (Westchester Knicks, Capital City Go-Go, and G League Ignite).
